Cape Town, a rainbow city in the rainbow nation. The city is home to almost four million people and a lot of whales, spread along hundreds of kilometres of stunning coastline.
Cape Town is one of the most vibrant and culturally rich cities on the planet. Expect the unexpected.
The city is famous for its harbour, for its natural setting in the Cape Floristic Region, as well as for such well-known landmarks as Table Mountain and Cape Point.
Where to begin? There’s the cable car up to the top of Table Mountain – and these days you can even abseil back down if you fancy something with a bit more buzz than the walk. Talking of buzz, if you’ve ever wanted to swim with sharks then this is the place to do it. Let’s not forget Robben Island, where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned for 18 years.
Due to the city's unique geography, it’s possible to visit several of Cape Town's beaches in the same day, each with a different setting and atmosphere. Though the Cape's water ranges from cold to mild, the difference between the two sides of the city is dramatic.
Cape Town has a long list of activities that we can incorporate into your guest experience programme. Below we have included our top recommendations.
November is the start of the southern hemisphere summer. It only rains on one day in every six, with a tiny average of 14mm for the whole month. The daily average temperature is 24 °C, dropping to a cooler 13 °C at night. But be warned, the water is cold on the western coastal beaches. Something to do with the proximity of Antarctica...
